Both companies will participate in adapting the existing and well proven Minitüb GmbH product range for use in aquaculture and also initiate the efforts to bring new products to the aquaculture egg producers. Based on joint marketing efforts, Cryogenetics AS will be responsible for sales and customer contact.
Effective production of fish eggs is a key component to aquaculture production. The industry focus on this part of the value chain will increase as new genomic tools, QTL products, and increased biosecurity measures are put in place.
Both Minitüb GmbH and Cryogenetics AS believe that the new strategic cooperation will make it possible to offer a new generation reproductive tools to the aquaculture egg producers by:
- Increasing fertility rates
- More effective use of superior males
- Longer storage time for fresh milt
- Accurate measurement and analysis of sperm qualities
It is expected that a range of new and improved products will be offered during 2012, at first focused to the producers of Salmon eggs.
